If you’re a woman in your 40s or 50s and you're feeling overwhelmed, unable to focus or function like you used to, or to manage emotional ups and downs, you’re not imagining it—and you’re certainly not alone.

For many women, perimenopause brings a shift not just in hormones, but in how the brain functions day to day.

And for those living with ADHD or discovering it for the first time in this season of life, these changes can feel overwhelming.

What often gets overlooked is how much energy many women have spent over the years trying to “hold it all together”—masking their symptoms to meet expectations at work, at home, and in relationships. This kind of masking can be deeply exhausting, and during perimenopause—when your nervous system is already under pressure—it can lead to profound burnout, both physically and emotionally.

As a naturopath, I work with women who are navigating the complex overlap of ADHD and perimenopause, who may be feeling stretched thin, burnt out and not like themselves anymore.

Together, we take a holistic, compassionate look at what’s really going on—beyond the labels and the symptoms.

We explore how hormonal changes may be intensifying ADHD traits, how sleep and stress might be playing a role and from there we can gently support with natural tools to restore balance and calm.

This might include supporting your nervous system with adaptogenic herbs, optimizing nutrition to stabilize blood sugar, mood and energy, or creating simple, sustainable routines that actually work with your rhythms.

Sometimes, just understanding how your body is changing—and feeling seen in that—can be deeply healing.

Together, we take a holistic, deeply personalized look at what’s really going on. We explore how hormonal shifts may be intensifying ADHD traits, and whether you're taking prescribed medication for your ADHD or not, how gentle, evidence-informed support—through herbs, targeted nutrition, and lifestyle adjustments—can help bring a sense of steadiness and vitality back into your life.

Breathwork is one of the tools I often also incorporate, teaching you practices which you can use to calm an overstimulated nervous system, reduce anxiety, and help improve emotional regulation—something many women with ADHD struggle with, especially during hormonal fluctuations. Even just a few minutes of conscious breath can create a meaningful pause in the day, giving your body a chance to reset and your mind a moment of clarity.

This is not about pushing harder or pretending everything is fine. It’s about listening to your body, tending to what’s beneath the surface, and finding sustainable ways to feel more like you again. Naturopathy combined with breathwork offers a space where your full experience is welcomed—with warmth, with respect, and with tools that gently support healing from the inside out.

If this resonates with you, know that you're not alone— I've navigated this same experience of how perimenopause uncovers previously masked neurodivergence (ADHD) and the challenges which can be amplified during this time of transition and which potentially impact all aspects of your life.
